This collection explored the use of chemical and mineral washes on ceramic goods. I wanted to recreate the looks of aging that occur naturally, such as rust, mold, and general wear. I aimed to use the properties that are usually seen as downsides to the use of washes, like uneven finishes and spitting, to my advantage to create textures that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
